With our specialty in ultraprecision machining, Tolerance Masters is a major source for custom bearing components. We specialize in manufacturing many critical components used in high-performance bearings that are used in a wide range of applications that require extreme precision and super finish surfaces.
For critical high-performance designs, we machine custom bearing races from a variety of materials compatible with the service conditions of your particular application. Supported by a technically trained workforce, our modern facility houses leading edge CNC grinding and lapping work centers that allow us to meet OD, ID, and form tolerances under one-tenth (.0001) measurements; roundness within ½ tenth tolerances depending upon applications. Our staff of engineers and machinists possesses in-depth knowledge of various metals and a deep understanding of how to maximize the capabilities of our CNC equipment. We have a long history and a level of manufacturing experience that allows our team to meet the most stringent requirements; whether it is consistent workmanship quality, extreme accuracy or surface finishes.
On a number of applications, the super finish requirements or the dimensional tolerances on a thin walled geometry create challenges to manufacturing bearing races. We develop a sequence of grinding operations that allow removal of stock under a planned schedule which alleviates many risks: part distortion, deflection, grind imperfections, grind burns or other out-of-tolerance nonconformance. We have a great deal of experience utilizing various grind wheel materials & applications that allow us to apply the optimal approach for each item based on the bearing material, geometry, and required tolerances.
As a supplier to leading OEMs, PMA's, and other Major Subcontractors, our manufacturing processes are controlled by a robust quality management system per ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100, Rev. C. A number of the bearing components we manufacture are subjected to contractual frozen process plans and require special attention to documented detail, from the moment an order is placed through contract review to shipment of finished products.
